For the regenerative development

When will the sustainable development arrive? Once we understand that the major capital that we have is the natural capital and this can be found on the Earth and our relationship with her; maybe we will be able to pass the patch of sustainability to the commitment to the regeneration. According to what we can read in the Permacultor of Mexican’s Eugenio Grass book, all the goods, the beings who inhabit the planet, including humans’ need, are obtained from natural resources generated by natural capital From the natural capital we obtain not only food but also clothes, furniture, fuels, automobiles, roads and thousands of more things as the environmental services to maintain the life’s quality of the planet: to use up carbon dioxide, clean up the seas we contaminate, or clean the water that we pollute. Humanity depends on the natural capital of the planet, which provides all the natural resources and ecological services need for life. And so balance between human natural resources consumption and the regenerative ability of nature is what will keep intact the natural capital and available beyond the concept of sustainability. Sustainability as is applied in our world, to postpone the fall but not avoid it, regeneration, it is to balance and in the balance, we will not fall. Esperanzah! bets on the way through the regenerative and start a process from more to less. That has to allow us the integration of the festival in these dynamics. In order to achieve it, bets on:

For a cultural responsible policy

Esperanzah! promotes cultural diversity in the schedule of emergent artists recognised by their innovation and authenticity, either their commitment with the political and/or social human quality. The changes have to arrive from the cultural bet.

For a responsible management of environment

  • Efficient waste processing. Advance non-stop through their integration in other scale of values. More than recycling, we are going to think in what ways we can use this waste so they generate new standards of cultural, social, environmental and economic values.
  • Environmental awareness in a transversal way for all the festival’s spaces.
  • Catering service with healthy and responsible products, made local and offered by the unemployed or the social enterprise. Trying to move forward towards a responsible purchasing around the festival.
  • Usage of re-usable or biodegradable glasses.
  • Respect for the environment.
  • The promotion of a responsible mobility, the usage of public transport, the bicycling or car-sharing.
  • Betting on defined environmental policy accommodation.
  • Calculate, and try to study improvement in the CO2 emissions’ of the festival and compensate these with the tree plantations in the territory, and with the collaboration of social companies, in Brasil and Peru.

For a social responsible politics

  • Cooperation with the financial cooperative ethics: COOP57. Moving forward towards the idea that the coin of the festival is the ECOSOL, a proper coin.
  • Adapting the festival for the passage of the persons with reduced mobility.
  • A family festival from 0 to +100 years old. We want a world where all the world fit.
  • Free entry, access to the water and reasonable prices of the drinks and food. It is important to highlight that the festival is possible thanks to the sell of food and drink, and therefore, we ask you not to take drink of your own. Otherwise, the festival will be not able to continue.
  • Action to prevent risks associated with the use of alcohol and drugs.

The conscience of the problems North-South:

  • The responsible consumption: the choice of products from the commercial sector.
  • NGOs and associations that organize The People of the possible to promote the universal respect for the human, economic, social and cultural rights. And to offer the festival attendants the opportunity –through the activities and other actions- of taking measures against that what generates problems for our world and to the persons where we live in; and the option of taking part in different groups and committed citizen collectives.

For an election of ethical partners

For the integration into the life of the city and the citizens:

  • Commitment to our quarter.
  • Commitment to the community’s development. Esperanzah is not a point that comes up next to Sant Cosme, It is a festival made from Sant Cosme and with the collaboration with its neighborhood and many other people that volunteer with their knowledge and work to the festival.
  • Priority hiring of the local providers.

By the development of an international network

  • Esperanzah! is a member of the European Forum’s Music Festival in the world (www.efwmf.org)
  • The alliance with Belgium (www.esperanzah.be) and Burkina Faso (www.fesdig.com)

A festival opened to everybody: the integration of ethnic minorities and people with special needs, democratic prices with free entry and the prevention of alcohol and drug consumption. A message of solidarity and tolerance: Esperanzah! is a creative place for the celebration and appreciation of the transformative possibilities of culture environment to our goal of finding solutions to the problems facing humanity. On the People of the possible, we imagine, plan and share progressive ideas for the future! The respect for the local community: Anything in Esperanzah! would not make sense without this component.
